Default minion bomber variant

[build prof=Rt/N spawning=12+1+1 death=12 restore=3+1][boon of creation][explosive growth][reclaim essence][animate bone minion][animate shambling horror][death nova][spirit's gift][death pact signet][/build]

should be pretty self-explanatory. use reclaim essence to minion bomb as well as energy gain.

EDIT: now with spirit's gift instead of energetic was lee sa.

it IS a variant after all. it's better in that it's got better energy management, and doesn't blow up your entire army in one go. you'll have better control over that with this build.

Good idea as the Rt bomber does have energy problems. Hero friendly?

it is hero friendly. however, i find Xandra seemingly having problems maintaining the enchantments at all times. that was with energetic was lee sa however. maybe with spirit's gift she will use the skills properly.

I wouldn't take boon of creation on this one, you should have plenty of energy already. Replace with something like Dark bond with leftover points for defense + blow up faster, or deathly swarm for some AoE damage...?

I'd try [rising bile] [putrid bile] or [taste of death]

It's an interesting build, to be sure, but any way you look at a rit vs. a necro, the necro minion bomber is more effective.

Not that they aren't fun, just for perspective.

I think you should fit in BotM in areas when you either:
1. dont have too many corpses
2. have lots of mobless areas to pass through
in both cases you should be as corpse efficient as possible, and BotM helps you keep your minions until you get the chance to make new ones.
if you want disable BotM when u enter battle.

if that were the case, i'll just change to a different hero.

keep in mind that this build is primarily played by my Xandra hero on my assassin. i figured that if such a sexy hero can't play her rit skills too well (livia is a better support rit, for example), then i might as well make her into a minion bomber to give livia infinite energy.

I see people say this every now & then, but thing is there's a very distinct difference between a 'minion bomber' (rit), and a 'minion master' (nec). It's quite misleading to run around saying that a Necro is a better 'bomber' than a rit. Without spawning you're simply not going to pull of the same kind of aoe spikes a Rt bomber can.

MM, sure, necro all the way......but a mm is not a 'bomber'.

p.s. - i havn't played in a while & it's quite possible there's something i'm missing. if so post up a necro 'bomber' build & simultaneously make me eat my foot and give me a new build to play with.

minion bombers and minion masters follow different styles of play.

minion masters are good for groups without much upfront damage, as the minions can act as decoys for casters and additional source of damage

minion bombers work really well as a supplement damage+support for melee based groups. for example, with my assassin, i can punch through any mob so fast that a standard minion master would be useless. with a rit minion bomber, i can supply it a constant supply of corpses, while the bomber supply constant aoe explosions and some really nice party healing as well.

as for bombers in general, i'd say the synergy between spirit's gift+boon of creation+explosive growth+animate bone minion to be too good to pass up.

PS: in no way i consider this build to be "mine", since there's an older thread detailing pretty much the same build, as well as better support for that build in these very forums. i hate it when i accidently recreate the wheel.

I agree with you on one point and disagree on another point, Moriz. In my mind, the difference between a Rit/N Bomber and a Necro/any MM is tempo. The MM gains energy upon deaths, 3 times every 15 seconds, which may or may not trigger when you need it, and Signet of Lost Souls, which may or may not kill the target. The Rit gains energy on creation, every time Jagged Bones procs, and every time you use Reclaim Essence, which DOES kill the target, and which hopefully had JB on it. IMO, the Ritualist has MORE available energy than a Necro. Sounds like heresy, right?

A Bomber's minions are tanks, which work really well for a CASTER group. While a Henchman like Gehraz might enjoy Death Nova for [Signet of Pious Light] fuel and getting Spirit's Gift heals, most melee Players complain of being body-blocked, accidentally targeting a minion, or in Factions, getting Diseased. A Necro MM is for melee support, where every Tom, Dick, and Leeroy is a W/Mo. Both the Rit/N and the Necro supplement damage, but only the Rit can also heal at the same time.

Moriz, when you get to Vizunah Square, the difference between the two styles of play will become quickly apparent.

PS: It's ok. Good to hear that people are still supporting the build.

Not anymore

They fixed the AI on [[Dwayna's Sorrow], which means a N/Mo running with some healing can do both.

The big diference I've noticed between the Necro MM and the RT MM bomber, the Necro's minions do more damage, and there are more of them, since you can run death at 16. The Rt's minions tend to last longer, but don't do as much damage. Still, their durability is useful in and of it's own right.

Rits and Necros can be Minion Bombers . They just use different routes to achieve the same thing. I think builds like this speak more about the variety both professions are able to achieve.

Not to mention, this is one of three ways that make Spawning Power...powerful?
